Daniel Mayala was the first born, birthplace Leoganes Haiti, became a musician at the age of seventeen. The first man to play drums in modern Haitin music and also to participate playing in the theatre De Verdieu. The very movement that changed that changed the traditional Haitin music called Kompa.
Dufond Mayala was the 2nd born, birthplace Leoganes Haiti, became a musician at the age of nineteen.
Young Dufond was the first to play a three African drum percussion setup to create a modern new sound for Kompa with the head of the movement, Nemour Jn. Baptiste to take the Haitin 30s-40s Cadence Rampa to Kompa from the 50s to present.
Edouard Mayala was the third son, he played the saxaphone and piano and decided to pursue a different career and become an artisan. He was high acclaimed and well know in Port Au Prince high society for his iron art and furniture design.
